How do squirrels break open the black walnuts that they gather?

The shells are so tough, a hammer is needed to break them. Are the jaws of squirrels so powerful?

And why do they sometimes bury the walnuts? Or is it something else that buries them? How do squirrels break open the black walnuts that they gather?
With their incisors. The Brazil nut is even harder to crack, but the Agouti, a rodent, can open a Brazil nut by gnawing at it.How do squirrels break open the black walnuts that they gather?
Their teeth are very strong, they are rodents, they bury food later use like in the winter when there is no food for it to it to eat on the trees and bushes.
The jaws aren't that powerful, but the teeth are very hard, very sharp, and grow continuously.

They eat some, save the rest.
